2026 4-star Douglas County HS (Douglasville, GA) DE Jordan Carter has officially included Texas in his final four schools in consideration for his commitment, according to Rivals.com.

Carter is currently ranked as the No.17 overall defensive end prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, and there's a chance that he could even jump up a couple of spots higher by the time national signing day gets here.

He has excellent size at 6'3", 245 lbs., and consistently knifes into the backfield thanks to his above-average hand fighting skills and pass rush repertoire. As a Sophomore and Junior in 2023 and 2024, he combined for 141 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and 26 sacks.

Those are absolutely insane numbers for a prep-level player, let alone one as young as he was.

Carter has looked like a collegiate defensive lineman since he was a freshman in high school from a body type standpoint, and he's been able to develop and refine the technical side of things over the past two seasons.

It's not hard to see why the Longhorns are so high on him, especially Texas EDGE coach LaAllan Clark, who's been absolutely killing it with the Longhorns' pass rushers in 2025. Austin, TX should be a destination for high school defensive line recruits with how well guys like Colin Simmons, Colton Vasek, Brad Spence, Ethan Burke, and Zina Umeozulu have been doing.

Steve Sarkisian and Co. are looking to add at least one more defensive end commit to their 2026 recruiting class, so let's see if Jordan Carter ends up being that player on NSD.
