Pittsburgh's star linebacker Rasheem Biles is officially set to visit Texas today, and he'd be an incredibly welcomed addition to Will Muschamp's new defense in 2026.
Biles is a classic thumper at MIKE, who's known for his ability to plug up run lanes, blitz, and tackle like it's nobody's business. Over the past two seasons for the Panthers, he's put up some ridiculous defensive numbers:
- 183 tackles
- 31.5 tackles for loss
- 10 sacks
- 3 interceptions (All returned for touchdowns)
- 13 pass deflections
- 3 forced fumbles
- 2 fumble recoveries (One returned for a touchdown)

Biles is coming off a visit to Michigan. The All-ACC selection had 101 tackles, an ACC-high 17 tackles for loss & 2 pick-sixes this year.https://t.co/5rKrno6K1M pic.twitter.com/PuHrBiweZW
Biles would be able to come in and immediately start for Texas in 2026, allowing Ty'Anthony Smith to stay at SAM or WILL next year. With Anthony Hill Jr., Liona Lefau, and Elijah Barnes heading out the door this offseason, the Longhorns desperately need to add some bodies at linebacker.
After the team's No.1 LB target, Christian Alliegro chose to commit to Ohio State yesterday, Will Muschamp and Co. have to pivot to some of the other top players in the portal. Rasheem Biles, along with Cal's Cade Uluave, and Florida State's Omar Graham Jr. are the next best options currently available to the team.
Very few players at the collegiate level have the type of processing skills that Biles does when it comes to stopping the run. He very rarely gets caught up in or bites on play-action and consistently puts himself in advantageous positions at the second level of the defense.
Someone like Biles could instantly help stem the bleeding in the team's currently thin linebacker room.
