Today, the Texas Longhorns and the rest of the country will learn where one of the most highly coveted prospects from the class of 2026 plans to take his talents.

Five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson has offers from the best college football programs in the country, including the defending National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes, his home state team Georgia Bulldogs, the Clemson Tigers, the Oregon Ducks, and the Horns.

Now, decision day has arrived, and Atkinson is reportedly down to just four schools: Clemson, Georgia, Oregon, and Texas.

Atkinson is the No. 1 linebacker in the class of 2026 and the top athlete out of the state of Georgia. According to On3 and Rivals, he is the No. 9 prospect in the entire country.

At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, he's just a few pounds away from having the build of a collegiate linebacker, and Atkinson still has an entire year of high school football remaining. For reference, Texas's star linebacker Colin Simmons is 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds.

Where is Tyler Atkinson crystal-balled to commit?

On3 and Rivals currently give the Longhorns an 88.7 percent chance to land Atkinson's commitment, followed by Georgia with just 3.7 percent. 247Sports' recruiting expert Tom Loy crystal balled Atkinson to commit to Texas, as well as Cory Fravel and Hank South, two local recruiting insiders

Atkinson has played varsity football since stepping onto campus at Grayson High School, already playing in 40 games before his senior season. To put it simply, it's clear why Atkinson is the No. 1 linebacker and a top-10 prospect in the country.

Over the last three years, Atkinson has amassed an astonishing stat sheet. He already boasts 475 total tackles (250 solo), 79 tackles for loss, 93 hurry-ups, 31.5 sacks, seven pass deflections, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one interception.

Atkinson is set to announce his commitment on ESPN's Pat McAfee Show which airs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT.
