Former All-World Texas basketball player, Kevin Durant, just earned his 16th All-Star nod for the Houston Rockets. Not only has he continued to be one of the top overall players in the league at 37 years old, but he hasn't shown any realistic signs of slowing down.
He's been averaging 26.2 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 4.6 APG, and 0.9 BPG so far this season, and has an effective field goal percentage of 57.5%.

It's also basically unheard of to be playing the kind of minutes that he is at 37 years old, and he isn't afraid to be doing it either. Durant knows that he's one of the best and that his team relies on him, so he relishes the ample playing time.
He recently had this to say regarding his current minutes:
“I feel great. That’s what I get paid to do. I get paid $50-some million dollars to be available and play... I’m preparing for 48 minutes a night. If I fall under that, I’m cool.”
Durant is still the same, incredibly competitive player that he's always been too. He consistently gets on his teammates about effort and has expressed his frustration at times in 2025/2026 when things have gone south for the Rockets.
With 16 total All-Star designations under his belt, KD is now tied with Julius Irving, and only trailing LeBron James (22), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (19), and Kobe Bryant (18) for his career. If we're looking into projections, it wouldn't be surprising to see him add a couple more to his Hall of Fame resume' before retiring.
