According to TeamRankings.com, Sean Miller and Texas are projected to land the No.8 seed in this year's SEC Conference Tournament.

At 17-10 with an SEC record of 8-6, I'd say that's a pretty accurate prediction as of right now with only four more regular-season games left. Dailyn Swain and Co. have been really good on offense for the Longhorns, but hiccups on defense continue to plague the team periodically.

Here are the current SEC standings for men's basketball:

1. Florida (12-2)

2. Alabama (10-4)

3. Arkansas (10-4)

4. Tennessee (10-5)

5. Texas A&M (9-5)

6. Missouri (9-6)

7. Kentucky (9-6)

8. Vanderbilt (8-6)

9. Texas (8-6)

10. Georgia (7-7)

11. Auburn (6-9)

12. Mississippi State (5-9)

13. Oklahoma (4-11)

14. Ole Miss (3-11)

15. South Carolina (3-12)

16. LSU (2-12)

Texas basketball could head into the 2026 SEC Tournament with real momentum and a roster built to make noise in a deep field, if they find some success to end the regular season. Hopefully, the team can go at least 3-1 in their final four games against Florida, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Oklahoma over the next two weeks.

The Longhorns’ offensive efficiency could be their saving grace in the postseason, as they continue to be one of the best offensive teams in college basketball. Seeding will obviously matter in a loaded SEC bracket, but Texas has shown enough consistency and late-game toughness to be viewed as a legitimate dark-horse contender capable of stringing together multiple ugly wins.

This year's SEC tournament will take place from March 11th-15th, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN.
