The 6-foot-6, 325-pound offensive tackle from Honolulu, Hawaii, recently visited the Forty Acres a couple of weeks ago. During his visit, he shared with atopsports.com, "I got to hang out with the players. It was my first time in Austin, so being able to explore the community and envision what life could be like for the next three to four years if I decided to commit here was significant for me. I also had the opportunity to meet with all the coaches."
That being said, it appears the Longhorns left a favorable impression on Malakai Lee. Now, let's talk about what Lee could contribute to the Horns if he were to commit.
In addition to his impressive size, he boasts long arms measuring 36 inches and a wingspan exceeding 85 inches. For someone of his stature, he moves fluidly and maintains excellent balance, which is likely beneficial since he also plays basketball.
Lee is expected to take on the role of an offensive tackle, either on the left or right side. Lee effectively uses his length to slide and mirror opposing edge rushers, making him a dominant force in the run game.
That said, he possesses all the qualities needed to become a great offensive tackle at the next level, provided he continues to develop. If he commits, he will be the third offensive lineman (OT Max Wright & G Nicholas Robertson) and the second offensive tackle to join the 2026 recruiting class.
