Texas' Bouwmeester recognized among the nation’s elite with spot on award watch list

Bouwmeester was just named to the Ray Guy Award preseason watchlist, which honors the nation's top collegiate punter in the FBS.

The Augusta Sports Council just announced their 2025 Ray Guy Award preseason watch list, and the Longhorns' new punter is front and center.

Jack Bouwmeester transferred to Texas from Utah in the spring, where he was a 2x All-Conference selection, Ray Guy Award Semifinalist, and one of the best overall punters in the Big 12. He currently ranks sixth in Utah program history with a career average distance of 43.6 yards per punt and seventh in program history with 33 career punts of 50 yards or more.

A panel of FBS sports information directors, media representatives, and previous Ray Guy Award winners will vote on the top three finalists to be announced in November. Once the top three group of finalists are named, the panel will then vote again to determine the award winner and the nation's top punter.

The winner will be announced at the College Football Awards ceremony airing on ESPN in December.
