It's no secret that Texas is ready and willing to attack the offensive line in the transfer portal this year, and though they missed out on two of their most recent targets, there's no reason to panic just yet.
Two interior blockers that they were reportedly very interested in, Michigan's Jake Guarnera and Iowa State's Brendan Black, decided to go in a different direction. Guarnera officially withdrew from the portal yesterday and re-signed with the Wolverines, and Black signed with Nebraska.
Though it's a bummer, a big time offensive guard from the Big Ten entered the fray yesterday. Ohio State's Tegra Tshabola has surprisingly decided to leave Columbus despite seeing quite a bit of success and recognition there.

Tshabola, a 6'6", 320-pound mauler from West Chester, OH, was a 4-star recruit in the 2022 class and he ended up choosing Ohio State over the likes of LSU, Florida, and Oklahoma.
He officially has one year of eligibility left after being a full-time starter at offensive guard for the Buckeyes in 2024 and 2025.
Tshabola's calling card is his run blocking, where he consistently displaces defenders at the point of attack due to his overwhelming strength and power. Despite being a taller interior lineman, he does a good job of winning the leverage battle and bending at the knees to maintain a lower center of gravity as well.
He's also a pretty good mover in space for being consistently the largest player on the field each week.
Adding someone like Tshabola could drastically improve Texas' offensive line as a whole, and would immediately improve the chances of having a more effective run game, which is exactly what Steve Sarkisian and Co. are searching for in 2026.
