Head coach Jim Schlossnagle and No. 19 Texas baseball (1-1, 0-0 SEC) achieved an important bounce-back win over the Ole Miss Rebels (1-1, 0-0 SEC) on Saturday night in a dominant 10-0 shutout victory at Globe Life Field.

This comes after the Longhorns dropped the regular season opener in a tough 4-3 loss in 10 innings to the Louisville Cardinals on Friday night in the College Showdown.
Texas opened up a big 7-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning behind a seven-hit half inning where the Longhorns went through the entire order. Max Belyeu led the fourth-inning outburst for the Longhorns at the plate, knocking in Texas's first run of the game with a single to right field.
Five different Longhorns' batters knocked runs in to put a seven spot on the Rebels in the bottom of the fourth, including two RBI hits from Will Gasparino and Rylan Galvan.

Texas tacked on three more runs to extend the lead to double digits in the bottom of the seventh inning, largely thanks to a two-run homer from Belyeu out to center field. Belyeu finished the day with a team-high three RBIs, along with two hits and two runs scored in four at-bats.
Thomas Burns closed out the run-rule win for the Longhorns with a no-hit 0.2 innings on the mound in the top of the seventh inning.
Every single non-DH batter for the Longhorns had a hit in this game. And all but one had at least one run scored and an RBI. This was truly a dominant effort for the Longhorns to get the first win of the Schloss era at Texas.
Texas had 11 hits to just two for the Rebels. The Longhorns also showed discipline at the plate, with four batters getting on base via walks while Texas only walked one Ole Miss batter.
Next up for the Longhorns is a matchup against the former Big 12 foe and No. 17 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys on Sunday evening. The Texas-Oklahoma State matchup closes out the Shriners Children's College Showdown at Globe Life Field in Arlington on Feb. 16, with the first pitch time at 6:30 p.m. CT.
