In addition to a couple of other personnel question marks, one of the biggest unknowns of the 2026 offseason for Texas has been whether or not Arch Manning would be ready to go for fall camp this year after recovering from foot surgery.

Though he's been trending in the right direction so far, throwing and moving around a bit during spring practice, some believed that the medical staff wouldn't fully clear him until closer to the fall.

Christmas came early for Arch Manning and Texas football

In an unexpected but exciting turn of events, Arch was medically cleared last night for participation in all football activities, and he'll officially be ready to go for summer workouts beginning June 1st.

This is incredibly good news, as there were a lot of concerns throughout spring practice that Manning wasn't getting enough reps with his new pass-catchers, which could lead to a "slow start early in the 2026 season. As everyone knows, Texas can't afford to get off to a sluggish start to the year, as they have the toughest schedule in all of college football this season, according to CBS Sports.

Luckily for Steve Sarkisian and Co., they essentially get Arch Manning back a month and a half earlier than originally expected and now the coaching staff will have their main facilitator back in the fold.

Longhorns fans saw how dangerous the offense could be down the stretch last season, and now that Arch has one of the top receiving cores in the country heading into 2026, it's possible that Texas could hit the ground running immediately this year. This is a far cry from how things started off in 2025, which basically caused the team to squander their national championship hopes incredibly early.

Now, the sky is truly the limit for a team that should have one of the most explosive offenses in the league, and a defense that should see an uptick in production with Will Muschamp back in the fold.
