The CFP Selection Committee just released their 2nd round of CFP rankings, and despite all of the "haters" complaining that the Longhorns shouldn't even have a chance at the playoffs this season, they've actually moved up in the rankings.

If the playoffs started today, the Longhorns would officially be in as they've been bumped up to No.10 in the rankings, up one spot from No.11.

For some odd reason, Notre Dame is still ranked ahead of them even tough Texas' resume' is not only better in terms of wins, but losses as well. The Longhorns played Ohio State better than anyone else has so far in 2025, and Texas also dominated Vanderbilt for 80% of their matchup until the very end of the game.

Realistically, it might not be that crazy to say that the Fighting Irish should be ranked behind Oklahoma as well right now. It's just a very odd team for the committee to be so high on at this point in the season.

As mentioned earlier, the Texas naysayers are out in full force after the 2nd CFP rankings dropped:

Needless to say, it looks like it's "Texas against the world" right now, and Longhorn Nation wouldn't have it any other way.
