Texas football in the top 5 of 2026 industry recruiting rankings heading into week 1

The Longhorns officially enter the 2025 season in the top five of Rivals.com's industry rankings for the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Rivals.com has released their updated 2026 recruiting rankings, with Texas at No.5 heading into their week one matchup against Ohio State on Saturday.

The Longhorns have done an excellent job with their plan of going for quality over quantity so far, and it's been paying off incredibly well for them.

Texas actually has fewer total recruits than a good amount of the other top-ranked schools, but the "top" of their commitment list is littered with some of the best players at their respective positions as of right now.

Their current 2026 recruiting class consists of 21 players, but that could grow over the next month or so with more recruits planning in-game visits.
