The Texas Longhorns did an excellent job this offseason of revamping their offensive line via the transfer portal, and they have to carry over some of that momentum into the high school recruiting space.

That being said, multiple scouting analysts have put in crystal ball predictions for 4-star Dallas-area OT Brian Swanson to end up at Texas in 2027.

The 6'5", 295-pound blocker has been one of the top offensive linemen in the state of Texas since the 2024 season, and he's currently ranked as the No.10 offensive tackles recruit in the 2027 cycle. He has excellent length and has made himself known for being a ferocious run blocker at the high school level.

He has great leg-drive and doesn't stop until the defender is either on the ground or 10 yards away from the play. Swanson's already used to a lot of different blocking schemes and variations, as South Oak Cliff HS has an unusually diverse run game for the prep-level. Swanson is consistently pulling, trapping, wrapping, and zone-blocking each and every game and that's incredibly impressive.

His pass sets also look pretty good for a high school left tackle, and that should translate over really well to the collegiate level. Swanson even spent time at right guard and displays good balance when skip-pulling and moving up to the second level. Sometimes it's hard for offensive linemen at that level to go from being on an "island" to a "phone booth" with little space but he's made it look easy.

It'll be interesting to see where he lands in the overall HS offensive tackle rankings because it wouldn't be surprising to see him jump a few spots higher as a senior with a strong performance in the 2026 season.
