Texas entered the offseason with a couple of obvious weak spots on the roster in 2025, and despite adding an immense amount of talent to the defensive line, they decided to completely ignore the offensive line. The team knew exactly what they had in the offensive line room in the spring and summer, and they still decided that what they had was "good enough".
As we can see, the offensive line has really been one of the only spots consistently holding the team back on offense this season.
It's mind-blowing that the offensive staff looked at the offensive line roster this offseason and didn't feel the need to go out and bring in 3-4 new transfers in the spring portal. Instead, they went out and brough in six new defensive linemen, which some could have said was in an even better position than the offensive line was at the time.
Texas had more than enough money to bring in multiple, starting-caliber offensive linemen this offseason, especially at offensive guard to help at least solidify the depth behind some of the guys that they liked. Now, what the Longhorns have been preparing and hoping for all offseason isn't attainable due to the football program's humongous blunder. The amount of above-average interior offensive linemen that were available and looking for a new home this offseason was incredible.
This is what you'd call less-than-ideal pass blocking.

The Longhorns could've easily went out and paid guys like Patrick Kutas, Emmanuel Pregnon, Hunter Zambrano, or Braelin Moore to come in and be day one starters. It's incredibly frustrating to see Steve Sarkisian and Co.'s lack of awareness when it comes to this.
Texas' offensive line is currently grading out as one of the absolute worst (bottom 10) pass-blocking units in the FBS, and that doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon.
The team has had a revolving door at the left guard position in 2025, with Neto Umeozulu there in the offseason, then Connor Stroh starting the year, and now true freshman offensive tackle Nick Brooks has kicked inside to help stop the bleeding. Brooks has looked good in some instances but has been incredibly inconsistent. Let's just hope that a miracle happens over the next handful of games, and Arch Manning actually has some time to throw the football to close out the season.
