The Football Writers Association of America just came out with their Week 2 NFF Super 16 Poll, and the Longhorns plummeted down 6 spots to #7 in their rankings.

There's no telling how far Texas is going to fall when the updated AP Poll comes out at 2 pm EST/1 pm CST, but this could definitely be a decent indicator for it.

The FWAA consists of some of the best and well-known college football analysts and writers in the world, with the likes of Steve Spurrier, Shehan Jeyarajah, and Dennis Dodd as members.

Though a win against San Jose State most likely won't move the needle that much from a national ranking standpoint this weekend, it'll undoubtedly be an important redemption game for the Longhorns after the Ohio State loss.

The offense in particular needs to get back into a rhythm this weekend, and it starts with Arch Manning. If he's able to show off some better mechanics and processing speed in Texas' home-opener, it'll go an incredibly long way for the morale and confidence of both the players and coaching staff.
