Texas freshman WR Jermaine Bishop drawing major praise from ex-NFL 'bad boy'

Former Cowboys and Ravens wide receiver Dez Bryant has been taking to social media the past couple of days to gush over Jermaine Bishop.

Over the first few days of spring practice, a couple of Texas' true freshmen have stood out on the practice field. One of them is WR Jermaine Bishop, who many have gushed about over the past couple of months regarding his speed and overall athleticism.

Though seeing Bishop's practice clips all over "X" is a normal occurrence right now, a former NFL receiver commented on or reposted multiple videos of Bishop yesterday.

Former Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens WR Dez Bryant, who was known as somewhat of a diva throughout his time in the league, apparently loves what he's seeing from Bishop right now.

He posted this blurb to "X" at the beginning of day two's session:

"I want to go on record and say Jermaine Bishop will be the Texas Longhorns #1 WR. The eye test doesn't lie. He's oozing with confidence..I can tell by the way he carries himself. He already runs routes like a pro. Legit playmaker.. I'm looking forward to watching him perform this year."

Though Bryant isn't particularly seen as a "goat" at the position, his performance on the field and career production make this endorsement pretty darn legitimate.

He also retweeted a video with some commentary:

"Most people would look at this clip and say it’s just routes on air. A lot of young wide receivers would just half ass during this period…His attention to detail is beyond his years..he released..stayed tight.. and stacked on an air defender! Practicing the stuff that’s going to show up in the game. I can tell he’s very confident and never too cool to get better. Longhorns got 1 of them 1s"

This kind of thing is excellent to see, and it's even better when it pertains to a true freshman putting on the pads for the first time.

Everybody already knew that Jermaine Bishop was going to be a special player for the Longhorns, but nobody expected him to be drawing this type of hype so early in the season.
