As everyone has seen by now, Desmond Howard recently took to social media to talk about the possibility of Steve Sarkisian leaving Texas after the 2025 season. Though Sarkisian has already shot down similar rumors earlier in the year, Howard decided to add fuel to the fire in a recent video.
Howard was at his home while airing out some of his "thoughts" Monday night:
Happy Monday AM! A lil sumthin sumthin you can only get here.#justmythoughts pic.twitter.com/sXy9neKUhD

We're not sure why it's been coming out, but the thought of Steve Sarkisian leaving Texas after the 2025 season would be incredibly odd for a lot of different reasons.
He consistently says how much he loves Texas, and recently confirmed it in his weekly SEC coaches conference:
"I've got two kids enrolled at the University of Texas, one in law school, one on our team. I've got a third that hopefully decides to enroll at the University of Texas next fall. My wife and I just had our son here in Austin. This is our home. We came here to win championships. We've built a damn good football program over the five years that we've been here."
Sarkisian fires back
In a savage moment fueled by both anger and frustration, Steve Sarkisian responded to Howard with a sharp-edged clapback:
"Maybe for some of the pundits out there that don't cover me and cover our program on a regular basis, so that they can understand that they can't just take their trash out and then have a thought to think that, 'Hey, I think that Texas is going to have a job opening,' so I don't know, think about something else when you're taking your trash out."
To be 100% honest, this response by Sarkisian should make Longhorn Nation feel great about the fact that he's really not leaving. There's no way he'd give this much pushback multiple times throughout the season at the thought of a potential departure if he was actually thinking about jumping ship.
