Former Arizona State running back Raleek Brown has been crystal balled to Texas by multiple recruiting analysts, and Brown is on campus today meeting with Steve Sarkisian and Co.

He's currently ranked as the fifth-best transfer portal running back according to 247Sports.com, and he was also one of the most productive ball-carriers to enter this year's portal.

He rushed for 1,141 yards on 186 carries in 2025, averaging a whopping 6.1 yards per attempt for the Sun Devils, to go along with four rushing touchdowns. Brown is a very reliable pass-catcher out of the backfield as well, totaling 34 receptions for 239 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

His ability to glide around the field due to his elite footspeed and agility makes it incredibly hard for defenders to make a solid tackle on him. Quite of few of his big runs in 2025 would've been ever more explosive had a safety not tripped him up after a juke.

Brown would be an excellent compliment to what Texas currently has in the backfield right now, which are bigger backs like Christian Clark, James Simon, and incoming freshman Derrek Cooper.

He would undoubtedly provide more of a spark on outside or off-tackle runs due to his burst and speed, which is something that the Longhorns didn't have in 2025. Despite being "only" 195 lbs, he's proven that he can handle a large workload as well, which is unusual for ball-carriers of his build and skillset.

With their No.1 running back target Isaac Brown heading back to Louisville in 2026, Texas has to pivot to the next best scheme fit for Steve Sarkisian's offense.
