It was recently revealed that Texas is hosting former ACC pass-catcher Sterling Berkhalter, who was the Demon Deacons' second-leading receiver in 2025. He was recently granted a sixth year of eligibility after experiencing some injuries early on in his career.
The 6'3", 205-pound playmaker has excellent size and length for the wide receiver position, and it's not hard to see why the Longhorns are interested in him.
The #Longhorns are hosting Wake Forest WR Sterling Berkhalter for a visit today.

Berkhalter is a classic, possession-type "X" who could be an excellent redzone weapon for Arch Manning and the offense in 2026. He has great hands and is pretty effective at the catch-point, showing off the ability to shield defenders away from the ball using his above-average frame.
He's been somewhat inconsistent throughout his collegiate career, but he's also come down with some really nice catches all over the field. Though he would most likely be limited to the outside in Steve Sarkisian's offense, it would allow players like Cam Coleman, Ryan Wingo, and Emmett Mosley V to rotate around the formation more freely.
Berkhalter would also give the team another experienced, relatively "cheap" veteran to help push along and develop younger receivers like Kaliq Lockett, Daylan McCutcheon, and Jermaine Bishop in 2026.
Along with Texas, Berkhalter recently visited LSU, and Lane Kiffin seemed to be pretty high on him. We all know how picky Kiffin is when it comes to his offensive weapons and transfer players in general, so this could actually be seen as an intriguing thing.
Let's see if the Longhorns are able to add Berkhalter to the growing list of exciting transfer commits for 2026.
