Steve Sarkisian and Texas already has 5-star WR Easton Royal committed for 2027, but they're still on the road looking to add more talented pass-catchers to the mix.

One of their more prominent targets is currently in-state 3-star WR Julian Cromartie who's dad was pretty good at football. Antonio Cromartie was a 4x Pro Bowl and 1x All-Pro cornerback for the Chargers, Jets, Cardinals, and Colts in the NFL from 2006 to 2016.

Julian is an up-and-coming player in the 2027 class, and some analysts believe that he could eventually become a 4-star before heading off to college.

The 6'2.5", 180-pound pass-catcher from College Park HS (The Woodlands, TX), is a playmaking machine on the outside, averaging over 20 yards per catch as a junior in 2025.

He has excellent length and uses his body incredibly well to shield defenders away from the ball at the catch point. Cromartie is very smart when it comes to recognizing leverage and position of defensive backs at the line of scrimmage, which allows him to customize his releases to give him the best chance of success early on in the rep.

Cromartie is currently being courted by quite a few P4 schools alongside Texas such as Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ole Miss, and Washington.

Adding someone like Cromartie to the receiver room in 2027 would be incredibly helpful to the offense in general, and Steve Sarkisian could be prioritizing size in that specific recruiting class. Special teams coach Jeff Banks has actually been Cromartie's main point of contact at Texas, so this could also mean that the team sees him as a potential asset in the kick and punt return realm as well.
