With Spring football officially wrapped up, it's time to start looking at what Texas' defensive depth chart looks like, seeing as how we already projected what the offensive depth chart looks like recently.

Newcomers Rasheem Biles, along with Bo Mascoe and Ian Geffrard, headline the Longhorns' updated defensive depth chart for 2026.

Let's get right to business, shall we?

DE - Lance Jackson, Zina Umeozulu, Smith Orogbo, Jamarion Carlton

DE - Colin Simmons, Colton Vasek, Richard Wesley

The pass rushers moved around incredibly well in the spring, and they all looked a bit bigger physically than they were in 2025.

DT - Hero Kanu, Alex January, Justus Terry

DT - Ian Geffrard, Maraad Watson, Josiah Sharma

Much like the edge rushers, Texas' interior defensive linemen have been very impressive early on in 2026. Arkansas transfer Ian Geffrard looks like an actual rhino with pads on at 6'5", 380 lbs.

WILL - Rasheem Biles, Tyler Atkinson, Markus Boswell

MIKE - Ty'Anthony Smith, Justin Cryer, Darius Snow

SAM - Brad Spence, Kosi Okpala, Rocky Cummings

What was once seen as a potential weakness for the Longhorns has quickly become a potential strength with the type of athleticism and positional veratility they now have in the room. Out of the nine linebackers who could see playing time in 2026, six of them can play all three spots if needed.

CB - Kade Phillips, Kobe Black, Hayward Howard Jr.

CB - Bo Mascoe, Warren Roberson, Samari Matthews

(NB) - Graceson Littleton, Wardell Mack, Nick Hudson

FS - Derek Williams Jr., Xavier Filsaime, Zelus Hicks, Toray Davis

SS - Jelani McDonald, Jonah Williams, Jordon Johnson-Rubell

Despite the team losing Michael Taaffe, Malik Muhammad, and Jaylon Guilbeau to the NFL this offseason, Texas' secondary has the chance to be even better in 2026.

The addition of Bo Mascoe, along with the development of both Graceson Littleton and Kade Phillips in year two, could prove to be vital in the success of Will Muschamp's new-look defense this year.
