One of the most successful head coaches in Longhorns history has been praising Sark for his ability to look out for his players.

Steve Sarkisian is incredibly well-liked by his peers, and it's pretty safe to say that quite a few former coaches are fans of him as well. Last season, a couple of ex-head coaches gushed about his ability to lead a successful offense at the FBS level, but perhaps what he does best is help his players off the field.

One thing's for sure when it comes to Steve Sarkisian, regardless of how you personally feel about his ability to call plays on offense, he does everything he can to give his players the best chance to succeed at the next level.

Texas coaching great doesn't hold back in his praise for Sark

Legendary Texas HC Mack Brown recently gushed about Sark's ability to get his guys to the NFL, and not neccessarily via the NFL Draft.

“As a head coach, you either put emphasis on your guys getting with a team or you don’t. It’s obvious that Sark has relationships with the NFL because he has a lot of players; it’s unbelievable to have seven free agents. You had to work at that… But give Sark credit. I used to get on our assistant coaches and say, you are responsible for your guy getting on a team.”

Sarkisian getting seven of his former players to sign UDFA deals with teams after the draft is a testament to both his ability to develop and vouch for his guys.

I don't believe it was Mack Brown, but another former coach expressed a similar sentiment when it comes to Sark's uncanny ability to get Longhorns to the league after the NFL Draft, because Texas had seven or eight players sign as UDFA's in 2025 as well.

Usually, having that many undrafted players get to the league from one team doesn't happen naturally. It happens because their collegiate head coach is "going to bat" for them and persuading different organizations to bring them in.
