Texas fans can't get enough of Katie Stewart's picture-perfect homer from WCWS Game 1

As the Texas Longhorns secured their Game 1 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders, first baseman Katie Stewart worked her usual magic.

Last night was... a movie.

The Texas Longhorns and the Texas Tech Red Raiders kicked off their second consecutive Women's College World Series final.

As the Horns marched their way to a dominant 7-3 victory over the Red Raiders, it came as no surprise that pitcher Teagan Kavan was elite as ever in the circle.

However, one of the most memorable moments was when first baseman Katie Stewart hit a booming, picture-perfect two-run home run.

Whether Texas fans were in attendance to see Stewart's first-inning home run or watching from home, they couldn't hold back their excitement as the Longhorns stormed ahead of the Red Raiders.

Stewart's two-run homer was followed by a single from Vivi Martinez, but she was thrown out at second one at-bat later when Reese Atwood reached on a fielder's choice. Then, Hannah Wells hit a single (maybe thanks to a ladybug?) to send Atwood to third. Kaiah Altmeyer hit a single to bring Atwood home, before Aston Maloney hit a triple to bring home both Wells and Altmeyer.

Just like that, all because of a home run to kick start the Horns' offense, Texas held a 5-1 lead before the second inning even began.

On the other side of the ball, Kavan was as dominant as ever, even while giving up a home run in the top of the first inning and another in the top of the fifth.

Despite the two homers, Tech was only able to amass three runs, not even outscoring the Horns' first-inning offensive performance.

Kavan pitched all seven innings, earning six strikeouts, while giving up just three hits for the Red Raiders' three earned runs.

After the game, Kavan was ready for even more, already looking to Texas's Game 2 matchup against Texas Tech just one night later.

Teagan Kavan is all business after Women's College World Series win

"Anything that's asked of me, everything I've got in me, I'm gonna leave it all on the field," Kavan said. "Same with all of our girls, we're gonna leave it all out there and get the job done."

While Kavan only gave up three hits and lasted the entirety of the matchup, Texas Tech's star pitcher NiJaree Canady pitched just 1.1 innings, giving up two hits and one run.

The Red Raiders also had Kaitlyn Terry and Samantha Lincoln in the circle as the Horns racked up 10 hits throughout their seven-run winning performance. Even better? The Longhorns only had two strikeouts in their 27 at-bats.

Game 2 is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on Thursday, June 4, and this time around, the Horns will be batting in the top and pitching to close out the innings.
