Week 2 of the college football season kicked off from the 40 Acres, and the Texas Longhorns showed up and showed out as ESPN's College GameDay got the day rolling.

As Rece Davis, Nick Saban, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit, and Pat McAfee shouted and shared their thoughts and opinions on the day's slate of games, the focus was undeniably on the Horns and their opponent of the day: the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes.

McAfee's kicking challenge was a resounding success, with Matthew McConaughey cheering on the freshman UT student who won $1,200,000, and head coach Steve Sarkisian made sure to stop by to get the crowd hyped up for the evening matchup.

However, one of the biggest takeaways from the morning show, as has become customary, was the hilarious signs that fans brought with them to join the crowd.

Of course, most of them were targeting the Buckeyes, either roasting the players or their head coach, Ryan Day, even going as far as to insult their BBQ choices.

And, to the surprise of none, there were quite a few posters praising the Longhorns, and phrases that have become common knowledge in Austin, like quarterback Arch Manning's go-to line, "Butter!"

With College GameDay tapping beloved Texas alum Glen Powell as the celebrity guest picker, there were also quite a few signs giving him the nod as a better quarterback option than Ohio State's Julian Sayin.

Not even the SEC was safe, despite the showdown acting as a chance for the conference to assert its dominance over the Big Ten.

And, while it wasn't a poster, it was certainly a memorable moment, but after the LSU cheerleader had a poor showing of pushups last week against Clemson, both Bevo and Brutus had to show off their skills.

Obviously, the signs weren't the only takeaway from the morning show, and the crowd may have reached its highest decibel when the on-desk talent made their predictions for the games, including whether the Horns could pull off the win or not.

ESPN's College GameDay backs the Longhorns over the Buckeyes

While Herbstreit didn't pick his winner of Ohio State-Texas since he was scheduled to commentate the game, one could easily assume he would pick the Buckeyes, since it's the very team he played for in college...

  • Nick Saban: Texas Longhorns
  • Pat McAfee: Texas Longhorns
  • Desmond Howard: Texas Longhorns
  • Glen Powell (Celebrity Guest Picker): Texas Longhorns

Desmond Howard kicked his feet up on the desk, showed off his burnt orange and white shoes, and picked the Horns. Legendary head coach Nick Saban picked Texas, backing them once again. Powell picked his hometown team, with a nod to UT making it to the National Championship. And the cherry on top was McAfee propping up how good the Buckeyes could be and still choosing the Longhorns.

It was a clean sweep.

After the show wrapped up, a slew of big-time games kicked off, but it wouldn't be until 6:30 p.m. CT that the Longhorns and the Buckeyes would take the field. It's nearly time for No. 4 Texas and No. 1 Ohio State, and you can catch all of the action on ABC or fuboTV.
