It should come as no surprise that the No. 1 Texas Longhorns are favored, once again, over their opponent as they prepare to take on the UTSA Roadrunners.

Despite UTSA's 2-0 start to the season, the Roadrunners simply aren't expected to mount much of a front against the Horns. Texas is projected to walk away with another big-time win to improve to a 3-0 overall record of its own.

Oddsmakers in Vegas expect the Longhorns to walk away with a win by 30.5 points, drubbing a UTSA defense that has only allowed 21.0 points per game so far this season.

Oddsmakers also set the point total at 58.5 points, which sets the projected score around 45-14, in the Horns' favor.

Texas Longhorns vs. UTSA Roadrunners - Week 3 prediction
While the Roadrunners haven't given up a ton of points so far this season, they have had an extremely difficult time stopping the run, allowing the Texas State Bobcats to earn 289 rushing yards last weekend.
That means Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian should lean into his incredibly talented running back room, highlighted by Hollywood Smothers and Raleek Brown, as well as the return of freshman Derrek Cooper.
It could also mean that quarterback Arch Manning unlocks his running abilities that we have not seen much of so far this season.
On the defensive end, the Horns need to prepare to go up against an Air Raid offense, with UTSA quarterback Owen McCowen throwing up 42 pass attempts last week. However, Texas's defensive line should be able to pressure the quarterback with relative ease.
Final score prediction: Texas 42, UTSA 10
I expect the Horns to hit just under their projected point total, likely rotating in second- and third-string players once they have built a big enough lead to ensure the roster's health heading into SEC play the following weekend.
With the win, Texas would improve to 3-0 on the season and 51-20 since Sarkisian took over the program in 2021.
After hosting the Roadrunners, the Longhorns are scheduled to kick off confernce play with a road trip to Knoxville to play the Tennessee Volunteers in Week 4.
