It was announced today that Texas GM Brandon Harris and WR coach Chris Jackson have decided to re-up with the Longhorns on new two-year deals.

Both individuals have been assets for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program, and look to continue doing so as the Longhorns go through a mini rebuild at a few key positions this offseason.

Jackson joined the program in January of 2023 and immediately got to work developing multiple Texas wideouts into NFL-caliber receivers. Since he was hired, he almost single-handedly molded Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell, Jordan Whittington, and Matthew Golden into not only contributors at the next level, but key pieces to their respective NFL teams' gameplans.

He's also done a great job with Ryan Wingo, Parker Livingstone, DeAndre Moore Jr. this season despite there being an unfortunate problem with dropped passes throughout the year.

Harris originally began as a quality control assistant at Texas back in February of 2019 and worked his way up to be the Director of Recruiting in 2021. He held that position for three years until making the transition to full time General Manager in February of 2024.

Jackson and Harris are officially the first staff members to renew their contracts this offseason, and there will likely be more to come in 2026.
