The Texas Longhorns added another blue-chip player to their running list of official visitors in June, as 4-star DT Mitchell Turner just locked in his summer plans with the coaching staff. He's also confirmed that Texas is on the final list of 8 schools that he's legitimately considering committing to.

The 6'3", 275-pound interior defensive lineman from Louisville HS in Louisville, MS, has been one of the hottest prospects for a lot of different schools over the past couple of months. Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, and Ohio State are some of the other programs that are after him, and the Longhorns will have to make sure that they make a good impression on him when he comes to town.

A couple of Turner's most sought-after traits are his quickness and explosion at the point of attack. It's almost unfair when you watch him on tape dipping, ducking, and juking around offensive linemen attempting to block him in the run game. He's consistently able to make big stops in the backfield due to his quick first step and hand usage, and has been unstoppable at times as a junior in 2025.

He has an unusually large repertoire of pass rush moves, and it's incredibly evident that he works hard on his craft in the offseason. Very few high school-level defensive linemen have as refined a spin move and club/rip combo as he has, and he honestly already looks like an FBS defensive lineman on the field.

He's incredibly versatile as well, lining up on the edge in a two-point stance on occasion. This is something that FBS teams could have him do as well, depending on his weight at the next level.

If he chooses to take his talents to Austin on National Signing Day, Will Muschamp and Co. would undoubtedly doing backflips as he's exactly the type of athlete that Texas likes to have on the defensive line.

Stay tuned to hear how his official visit goes in June!
