Texas' coaching staff has been spending quite a bit of time on the road lately, scouting and visiting with their current targets in the 2027 class. Someone that they didn't think they'd have much of a chance at recruiting, 4-star DE JaBarrius Garror, recently decommitted from Alabama and is officially back on the market.

The 6'2.5", 215-pound pass rusher from Vigor High School in Mobile, AL, has been one of the most explosive defensive ends in the country since his sophomore season in 2024.

Lions, tigers, and JaBarrius Garror...oh my!

Garror's been one of the most feared players in all of Alabama since the moment that he stepped on the field at 15 years old. Not only is he unusually good against the run for being somewhat "light" at 215 pounds, but he's also already incredibly refined as a pass rusher.

Over the past two seasons, he's combined for a mind-blowing 210 total tackles, 42.5 sacks, 88.5 tackles for loss, and 5 forced fumbles. That type of production is hard to replicate even in a video game on "easy" mode.

It's not hard to see why so many programs are after him and why Texas pounced on him shortly after he decommitted from Alabama, where he had been committed to for almost two years.

The most impressive aspect of Jabarrius Garror, and what should translate incredibly well to the next level is his overall movement skills. The way he can teleport around offensive tackles without needing to throttle down is something that hasn't been seen at the high school level in quite a while.

The only reason why he's not a consensus 5-star right now is due to his slightly smaller frame. He's not the longest player in the world, but he makes up for it with his ability to run around and influence blockers with ease.

Longhorns fans will likely see and hear his name quite a bit going forward, as he's most likely become a top priority for Will Muschamp and LaAllan Clark. Garror also has an official visit to Texas scheduled for June 12th, so the coaching staff will hopefully be able to make a good impression on the star pass rusher.
