The SEC media recently released its preseason All-SEC teams and its projected order of finish for 2025, and let's just say that the Longhorns aren't highly regarded amongst the voters.

Here are the 2025 preseason All-SEC teams:

First Team All-SEC

Alex Condon – Florida

Josh Hubbard – Mississippi State

Otega Oweh – Kentucky

Tahaad Pettiford – Auburn

Labaron Philon Jr. – Alabama

Second Team All-SEC

Nate Ament – Tennessee

Boogie Fland – Florida

Ja’Kobi Gillespie – Tennessee

Thomas Haugh – Florida

Mark Mitchell – Missouri

Third Team All-SEC

Malik Dia – Ole Miss

Aden Holloway – Alabama

Karter Knox – Arkansas

Jaland Lowe – Kentucky

D.J. Wagner – Arkansas

SEC Player of the Year

Otega Oweh – Kentucky

Despite new head coach Sean Miller joining the program from Xavier this offseason, the vibes around the Texas basketball program aren't as high as some would like to think. The hope is that Miller can come in and basically turn the program around after an immensely successful career at both Arizona and Xavier from 2009 to 2024.

The team returns PG Tramon Mark and SG Jordan Pope, who both averaged over 10 PPG in 2024, and look to help contribute more as facilitators in 2025.

Dailyn Swain and Lassina Traore followed Sean Miller from Xavier to Texas, and both provide excellent size and physicality at the small forward and power forward positions. Swain actually played a huge role for Xavier against the Longhorns in 2024 when the Musketeers defeated Texas in the First Four.

Matas Vokietaitis is an up-and-coming, 7-footer from Florida Atlantic who was dominant at times in the paint for the owls in 2024. He plans to play a huge role at center for the Longhorns this year.

Despite the wealth of talent that the program brought in this offseason, the media still picked Texas to finish 9th in the SEC for 2025.
