It's no secret that Texas has had a huge offensive line problem for most of the year in 2025, specifically on the interior. The good thing is that this season's transfer portal class looks to be chock-full of excellent options for the Longhorns to bring in.

There are also three specific players from other in-state schools who could be targeted by Steve Sarkisian and Co. when the portal opens in January.

OG Tellek Lockette - Texas State

Lockette has been one of the most consistent guards at the G5 level over the past three years at both Louisiana-Monroe and Texas State, and he'd immediately challenge for one of the starting guards spots at Texas. He has great size (6'3", 325 lbs.) and is an absolute bulldozer in the run game.

He'll be entering the 2026 season with 42 career starts under his belt, and he's the perfect option for Texas if the coaching staff wants to bring in a more experienced player at the position.

OG King Large - SMU

Large was an intriguing player coming out of California powerhouse St. John Bosco HS in 2024. He has offensive tackle length and size at 6'5.5", 300 lbs., but the movement skills of an offensive guard, so he might be able to give Texas some positional flexibility as well.

He didn't see the field much during his two years at SMU, and that's one of the main reasons for his departure. Large definitely has the skillset and potential to come in and be exactly what Texas needs, while providing the type of versatility that Steve Sarkisian likes to have in the offensive line room.

OG Nonso Omezi - Houston Christian

Omezi has been flying under the radar, but he was one of the better interior offensive linemen in the Southland Conference in 2025. He's been a full time starter for the Huskies since 2024, splitting time between both offensive tackle and guard.

At 6'5", 320 lbs., Omezi has great size for an SEC offensive guard, and his movement skills should help him in Texas' offensive scheme. Sark likes to pull his guards quite a bit on different power/counter variations, and Omezi is tailor-made for that type of run scheme.
