Blue-chip LSU OT Carius Curne has decided to enter the transfer portal in January, and the Longhorns might go all-in for him.

It's no secret that Texas' offensive line was one of the main reasons for their lack of overall success in 2025. Despite a constant lineup rotation throughout the season, the Longhorns weren't able to find consistency until it was too late.

Steve Sarkisian and Co. will undoubtedly have to be aggressive in the 2026 transfer portal if the team wants to see rapid improvement in the trenches. Coincidently, one of the nation's top true freshman offensive line prospects from 2025 just decided to hop into the transfer portal.

Blue-chip LSU offensive tackle Carius Curne just entered his name in to the portal, and the Longhorns will undoubtedly be going after him once the transfer portal window officially opens on January 2nd.

Curne, a 6'5", 320-pound lineman from Marion HS (Marion, AR) was the No.3-ranked interior offensive line prospect in the 2025 recruiting class and was a consensus 4-star. Though he was classified as an IOL prospect, LSU played him at offensive tackle as a true freshman.

His first career start came against Ole Miss in week 5, and he ended up starting games at both left and right tackle in 2025. Curne started five games and played in a total of 305 snaps for the Tigers this year, showing off his elite versatility and skillset in year one.

He's currently the top rated offensive lineman in the 2026 transfer portal, and due to his ability to play both guard and tackle at a high level, he'll be courted by a lot of programs over the next few weeks. If the Longhorns wants to lock him up, they'll have to offer him an incredibly good NIL deal.

Curne could immediately step into the starting lineup for Texas at left tackle if Trevor Goosby decides to leave, or at one of the offensive guard spots in 2026. He'd be an immediate upgrade over what they had on the interior in 2025.
