Jack Endries transferred to Texas from Cal in 2025, and from the moment that he arrived on campus, he loved what he saw from Arch Manning. Though the Longhorns' 2025 season didn't end the way everyone had hoped, it still didn't stop Endries from gushing about Manning and "what could have been" at the NFL Combine.
It's no secret that Longhorn Nation, as well as some members of the national media, believed that Texas got snubbed in the College Football Playoff Committee's final rankings last season.
Needless to say, Endries felt the same way and mentioned Arch Manning's talent during his podium time yesterday:
"You know by the end of the season, those last couple games, he [Arch Manning] going for it felt like six touchdowns by himself. In the air, in the ground game, it felt like he was...I wish we had that playoff chance, I think we would've made a run with him at quarterback and the rest of our team."

Like Endries was saying, Texas' offense was humming over the final 5-6 games of the year, and Arch Manning was an enormous part of it. He was playing lights out against some of the team's biggest rivals to end the season, and hopefully, he'll carry over that momentum into 2026.
The way Manning can impact the game at any moment with both his arm and legs make him incredibly dangerous regardless of field position.
I don't think there's a doubt in anybody's mind that if Texas did end up making it into the college football playoffs last season, they would've surprised a lot of people.
Jack Endries and the rest of this year's tight end group hits the turf for on-field workouts this afternoon, so make sure to follow along with his performance!
