Texas football has made a late-cycle offer to 2025 three-star North Las Vegas (NV) Mojave linebacker AJ Tuitele, according to a post on his X account on Jan. 21.

Can Texas football swoop in for USC 3-Star LB target AJ Tuitele late in the 2025 cycle?

Tuitele had signed with the Washington State Cougars during the Early Signing Period in December. But when the Wazzu coaching staff left for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons early this offseason, he was released from the LOI.

Just when it looked like the Longhorns were done with high school recruiting for the 2025 cycle, Texas jumped on the opportunity to offer an underrated linebacker who recently got out of his letter of intent at Wazzu.

Tuitele took an official visit to see the USC Trojans last weekend. He's been trending to USC over the past couple of days. But the Texas offer could definitely make his recruitment interesting in the final days before the late signing period in early February.

Texas is still looking to add more linebacker depth for 2025 in a class that ranked No. 1 nationally for this cycle in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking. The Longhorns signed two linebackers from high school recruiting in the 2025 class, including Dallas (TX) Skyline high-four-star Elijah "Bo" Barnes and Fort Worth (TX) North Crowley three-star Jonathan Cunningham.

At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Tuitele ranks as the No. 1,756 prospect nationally in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite, No. 163 linebacker, and No. 15 from Nevada.

Tuitele also holds offers from the Arizona Wildcats, New Mexico Lobos, New Mexico State Aggies, Portland State, Sacramento State, and Utah Tech.
