The head coaching jobs at Virginia Tech, Arkansas, UCLA, Oklahoma State, and Stanford have all opened up recently after their former coaches failed to be consistently successful over the past 3-4 seasons. Though Longhorns Co-OC and QB coach A.J. Milwee is happy at Texas, it wouldn't be surprising to see him leave for one specific job after the 2025 season ends.
Milwee is beloved by Steve Sarkisian and the rest of the offensive staff, and he's a well-known commodity in the college football world for being an "up-and-comer" as an eventual head coaching candidate.
It's honestly just a matter of time until he lands a head coaching job, and that might happen sooner rather than later because Andrew Luck and Stanford might be calling his name relatively soon. He seems like an excellent candidate for that position based on a few different things.
Andrew Luck and Co. are most likely looking for a young offensive mind like Milwee who can come in and develop quarterbacks, recruit at a high level, and deploy an explosive offensive scheme for the Cardinal. Needless to say, Stanford hasn't exactly been the poster boy for offensive success over the past three to four seasons, and it's reasonable to think that an offensive-minded head coach is the way that they'll want to go. Milwee feels like such an "Andrew Luck guy" and though it's not rumored to be actually happening or anything, it wouldn't be surprising to see.

Milwee's been involved on the offensive side of the ball for his entire life, playing quarterback at both Alabama and North Alabama between 2004 to 2008. He then held the roles of GA, QB Coach, Offensive Assistant, Offensive Coordinator, and Co-Offensive Coordinator since 2009 with North Alabama, East Mississippi, Akron, Alabama, and now Texas.
Though Longhorn Nation hopes he stays in Austin for the foreseeable future, Milwee is an excellent coach, and other programs are going to try and poach him soon.
