The Longhorns women's soccer team is just one of Texas' many powerhouse athletic programs. This year, the Horns are heading into their first-ever SEC Tournament as the No. 3 seed and with a first-round bye.
The SEC Tournament is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, Nov. 3 from Pensacola, FL as the eight teams playing in the first round face off.
Texas won't see any game action until the second round, the quarterfinals, and will face the winner of the matchup between 6-seed Auburn and 11-seed LSU
The only teams seeded higher than the Longhorns are the 1-seed Mississippi State Bulldogs and the 2-seed Arkansas Razorbacks. Mississippi State is ranked No. 2 in the nation and Arkansas is ranked fifth nationally.
Texas has fallen to No. 21 in the country after slightly struggling through conference play. This season, the Horns went 13-3-2 overall with all three losses against SEC opponents –– Mississippi State, Florida, and Arkansas.
On Oct. 27, Texas capped off its regular season with a 1-0 win over the unranked Georgia Bulldogs, the team's sixth conference win of the year.
Forward Lexi Missimo is once again leading the Longhorns' charge. The win over Georgia was her eighth consecutive match with a goal. Teammate Trinity Byars holds the current program record for consecutive games with a point at nine matches in a row.
Texas is scheduled to play its first SEC Tournament match at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The Auburn-LSU game is scheduled to kick off exactly 24 hours earlier to determine who the Longhorns will face in the quarterfinals.
The Auburn Tigers have gone 12-2-4 so far this season. The LSU Tigers finished their regular season at 8-7-3 overall.
