Despite being the third-ranked team in the nation, the Texas A&M Aggies fell to the Longhorns by a score of 27-17 last night. Even though Aggie fans are making excuses and trying to defend their team's performance, nothing they say or do can realistically explain what happened in DKR.
The Longhorns were in complete control or leading for all but just over 8 minutes of the matchup, and then Texas opened the floodgates in the third quarter. Aside from the Longhorns completely shutting down Marcel Reed and Cashius Howell last night, they also held their own against the run in crucial situations despite being without star linebacker Anthony Hill Jr.
Not only did the football team hand A&M an "L" last night, but Darrell K. Royal Stadium got in on the action as well.

Seeing this after the game put the cherry on top for Longhorn Nation. It was unbelievable that Texas A&M HC Mike Elko even said this in the offseason, and it undoubtedly came back to bite him in the you know what on Friday night.
It was also easy to see that Elko wasn't in a very good mood following the loss:
Big mad.

Everything about this win was incredible for Texas and it's fanbase.
The only question mark now is trying to figure out how the College Football Playoff Selection Committee is going to deal with the Longhorns' CFP outlook. Texas has played and beaten more top 10 teams than most of the programs ranked ahead of them in the current CFP rankings, and if it's truly about resume', then Texas will be in.
If it's about "public perception", then they'll be ranked outside of the top 10 this week.
