Over the past week, the betting spread for the game has been moving all over the place, from Texas -4.5 to Texas -7. This means that a lot of sports bettors have been hammering both sides of this line on a fairly consistent basis since it opened at Texas -6.5. As of right now, and where it'll likely stay until kickoff at 2:30 pm CST/3:30 pm EST, it's sitting at Texas -5.5.
This feels like a fairly accurate spread too, as it could entice more action from either side later today. The entire goal of a sportsbook is to maintain 50/50 action on both sides of the line in order to ensure profitability.
The game predictions have also been rolling in as of late as well, and a few of them have been pretty interesting.
College Football News
"Florida’s offense can’t get the running game going. Turnovers were the problem against LSU; the passing attack overall was the issue against Miami, and converting on third-down chances has been a problem against everyone.
It’s not just that the Gators can’t run. They’re not hitting anything down the field to take the heat off the backs - there’s no room anywhere to move when DJ Lagway isn’t on. The Texas defense has been a rock against the run - no one has pushed past 85 yards - and overall, it’s allowing just 211 yards per game."
Final Prediction: Texas 23, Florida 16

"After extensive simulations, our model gives Texas a win probability of 69%, while Florida has a win probability of 31%."

Sporting News
"Will the Gators have their back-against-the-wall moment against Texas? The Longhorns are coming off a bye week – and this might be a trendy upset pick knowing Florida has a tough defense. Both teams are good against the pass – which is going to turn up the heat on quarterbacks DJ Lagway and Arch Manning. We trust the Longhorns' offense a little more, even in a defensive struggle."
Final Prediction: Texas 24, Florida 14
Picks and Parlays
"Florida QB D.J. Lagway was wearing a walking boot after the loss at Miami, but is expected to play in this contest. Both defenses have been playing at a high level, so the under is worth a look. The Gators are playing with their backs against the wall and will pull off the upset."
Final Prediction: Florida 24, Texas 19
