It's time to reconvene and bounce back for the Texas Longhorns. They will have a great opportunity to do so this weekend with a home game against the unranked Florida Gators, who are riding a two-game losing streak.

After dropping the Red River Rivalry to OU and dropping from No. 1 to No. 7 in the AP Top 25 Poll, the Horns will be out for blood.

So, with a big-time game just over the horizon, here is everything you need to know for the Week 7 matchup between Texas and Florida:

How to watch No. 7 Texas Longhorns vs. Florida Gators

  • Date & Time: Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. CT
  • Location: Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
  • TV/Streaming: ABC, fuboTV
  • Radio (local, Austin): AM 1300 The Zone

The return to DKR provides promise (and a home-field advantage) for the Longhorns that they haven't felt since Week 3 against the UTSA Road Runners.

The game will be broadcast by ABC on ESPN and will be available for streaming on fuboTV. If you're in Austin for the game but not in attendance, it will be available on AM 1300 The Zone.

Weather forecast for Florida's road game at Texas

  • High: 68º
  • Low: 49º
  • Kickoff temperature: 58º

Fall is finally set to his the 40 Acres, and that is going to provide a beautiful forecast for the game on Saturday. The high is expected to only hit 68º with the low starting the day at 49º. When the Gators and Horns kick off, the temperature is expected to be in the ballpark of the high 50s.

Humidity is expected to be around 55%, and a light breeze hovering just above 10 miles per hour is expected throughout the day. In other words, Texas and Florida are about to play in perfect football weather.

Latest injury report for Florida Gators vs. Texas Longhorns

For the second straight week, the SEC-mandated availability report included good news for the Horns and not-so-great news for their opponent.

Texas availability report - Wednesday

Texas's injury list included the positive sign for defensive lineman Justus Terry, who was listed as "probable" for the first time for the first time in a month.

  • PROBABLE: Justus Terry, defensive lineman
  • QUESTIONABLE: Jordan Coleman, offensive lineman
  • DOUBTFUL: Kaliq Lockett, wide receiver
  • OUT: Jaydon Chatman, offensive lineman

However, the Horns will likely continue to be without wide receiver Kaliq Lockett, and offensive lineman Jordan Coleman is still questionable to return. The only new addition to the report was offensive lineman Jaydon Chatman, who does not start for Texas.

Florida availability report - Wednesday

The Gators' current availability report made it look even more likely that the Texas defense could have a field day on Saturday.

  • QUESTIONABLE: Vernell Brown, wide receiver; Bailey Stockton, wide receiver; Aaron Philo, quarterback
  • OUT: Duke Clark, running back

Florida could be without starting quarterback Aaron Philo and star wide receiver Vernell Brown, as well as WR3 Bailey Stockton, leaving the starting receiving corps down to sophomore wideout Dallas Wilson III.

Mid-week spread, moneyline, total for Texas vs. Florida

  • Spread: -11.5 Texas, +11.5 Florida
  • Moneyline: -450 Texas, +340 Florida
  • Over-Under: +/-51.5 points

After the odds opened with Texas as a 10.5-point favorite, it seems the initial availability report has the experts in Vegas leaning even more heavily toward the Horns. Now, Texas sits as the 11.5-point favorite, with the expected point total set at 51.5 points.

If someone wanted to profit $100 on Texas's win, they would have to put $450 down. Meanwhile, they would only have to bet $100 on Florida pulling off the upset to walk away with $340 to their name if the Gators actually won, that is.

Announcers and reporters for Florida vs. Texas

  • Play-by-Play: Joe Tessitore
  • Analyst: Jesse Palmer
  • Sideline reporter: Kris Budden

Unfortunately for Texas fans watching the game on TV, they will have to listen to a former Florida football player, Jessee Palmer, providing analysis.

Next to Palmer will be long-time ESPN play-by-play announcer Joe Tessitore, and beloved sideline reporter Kris Budden will be on the field.

Series history for Texas Longhorns vs. Florida Gators

  • Overall series: Texas leads 3-1-1
  • First-ever meeting: 7-7 tie in 1924
  • Most recent meeting: 29-21 Florida win in 2025

Despite these two programs having lengthy and successful histories, Texas and Florida have only shared a football field on five previous occasions, with the Horns walking away victorious three times.

All of those meetings have been in the regular season, with the most recent matchup coming just last year, resulting in an upset victory for the Gators that arguably kept the Horns out of the College Football Playoff.
