The Texas Longhorns certainly haven't had the season they thought they would this year, especially fully in the Arch Manning era and after the season at No. 1. However, the Longhorsn aren't quite out of the running for the College Football Playoff just yet with only two losses.

Two of Texas's last three games are crucial for the Longhorns to have a chance at making the CFP with matchups against No. 5 Georgia and No. 3 Texas A&M. Texas is currently on its second bye week in Week 11, so they have some time to get ready for these big games, along with a game against Arkansas between those two. However, the Texas vs. Georgia game just got its game time, and it is not what Texas was hoping for.

Texas will travel to Athens to take on the Bulldogs at Sanford on Saturday, November 15, and the game time it was the 7:30 p.m. slot. That means a night game in between the hedges at Sanford Stadium, one of the toughest places to play, especially a night game.

This matchup was the biggest game of the season last year, and Georgia had the Longhorns' number in both matchups during the regular season and the SEC Championship. Both of those games were night games as well, and Georgia just knows how to perform well under the lights.

While it is always good to have a night game, the Longhorns know the crowd will be loud and ready to go as Bulldog Nation is just different at night. If anything, Texas now has a chance to prove to the CFP selection committee that it can win the big games in hostile environments.

Again, Texas will have an extra week to prepare for Georgia, and with some strong momentum going into the bye week after the Vanderbilt win, there is a lot of hope that Texas can pull off the upset.
