The Texas women's basketball team hosted the UT-Tyler Patriots for its final exhibition game ahead of the regular season. As the Longhorns looked to prove their readiness for the year, the team looked to be in perfect form against the Patriots.

After four quarters and nearly every single player on the roster earning playing time, the Horns walked away with a (seemingly) easy 98-25 victory over UT-Tyler.

This season is expected to hold the return of star point guard Rori Harmon as well as the continued dominance of forward Madison Booker. Sixth-year star Shay Holle is also back on Texas's roster as well as transfer center Taylor Jones.

The Longhorns looked dominant against the Patriots, allowing an average of just 6.25 points per quarter. On the other side of the court, Texas scored nearly 25 points per period.

While UT-Tyler won't be the most formidable opponent the Horns face this season, it never hurts to get a few polishing moments in before the real season tips off.

This year, Texas enters the belly of the beast as the program starts its first-ever season as a part of the SEC. The conference boasts the likes of the reigning National Champions South Carolina and the Final Four contender LSU.

The SEC is filled with talent from top to bottom and the Horns won't breeze to a conference title with the same ease that they could in the Big 12.

Texas starts is regular season on Nov. 10 against Southeast Missouri and begins conference play against familiar foe Oklahoma on Jan. 2. The Longhorns will visit No. 6 Notre Dame ahead of SEC play to face the usually dominant Fighting Irish in an SEC-ACC Challenge game.

In preseason polls, Texas earned the No. 4 spot in the country, behind No. 1 South Carolina, No. 2 UConn, and No. 3 USC.
