Texas women's basketball is back in the gym and already putting in the work to get back to the Final Four after losing to South Carolina in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament last season. That was one of the best seasons by the Longhorns, and the fact that they made the Final Four is a huge accomplishment.

Their road to get back to the Final Four will be challenging, given how good the SEC is in women's basketball.

Recently, the Longhorns released their conference schedule for the upcoming season. Some SEC teams will be making their first appearance at the Moody Center, while there will be some familiar ones returning as well.

It's going to be a challenge, but I know the Longhorns will be up to the task. Let's take a look at the upcoming conference schedule for the Longhorns and point out some of the teams the Longhorns will be going up against during conference play.

Texas women's basketball @ South Carolina

Unfortunately, the Longhorns are going to have to go up against Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks on the road this season. It's something that a lot of SEC women's basketball teams dread having to do because of their great home-court advantage.

Senior forward Chloe Kitts is returning for her final season as a Gamecock, along with other key returning players like Joyce Edwards. The Longhorns are going to be in for a challenge when they hit the road to take them on this upcoming season.

Texas women's basketball @ Tennessee

Another key game on the road this upcoming season will be against Tennessee. They are a team that scares me after the summer they just had on the recruiting trail. Having the number 1 transfer portal class and number 2 high school recruiting classes should scare a lot of teams this season.

The fact that the Longhorns have to play them in Knoxville is even scarier to think about after that. It's another tough, challenging road matchup for the Longhorns to have to deal with this upcoming season.

Texas women's basketball vs. LSU

Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers are coming to the Moody Center this season. Even though LSU doesn't look like a team that could be a threat to the Longhorns, I never count out Kim Mulkey and her coaching staff. They are some of the best coaches in the SEC and have developed players like Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson.

They also stole a player from South Carolina in the transfer portal. Don't count out the Tigers just yet; they come ready to play every game.

Texas women's basketball vs. Texas A&M

The Longhorns will welcome the Aggies to the Moody Center for the first time since joining the SEC. The Aggies are adding seven transfers to their roster this upcoming season. While they don't pose much of a threat, that all goes away during a rivalry game.

You never know what could happen when the Aggies come to the Moody Center. They could pull off the upset of the century against Schaefer and the Longhorns. This is a game that could turn into a pivotal game for the Longhorns this upcoming season.
