Texas has star power at every single position, which is great, but it means that a lot of players on the roster will barely see any playing time. That is, unless they enter the transfer portal and find a new team to call home.
Most recently, redshirt-freshman wide receiver Freddie Dubose announced that he would enter the transfer portal after not playing a single snap during his freshman season and rehabbing a second ACL injury.
At the end of March, Dubose was not listed on the first edition of the Longhorns' newest roster, released at the beginning of Texas spring practice. Now, it appears the wideout is headed elsewhere.

Ahead of Texas's appearance in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, wide receivers coach Chris Jackson was asked about the status of Dubose.
"The biggest thing for him is just buying into the culture, being a great teammate, and picking up things from an IQ standpoint, but again, we haven’t really had any install, because all my install has been during the season," Jackson said. "So I will have to watch how he transitions now that we have this opportunity."
Coming out of high school, Dubose was a three-star prospect and had offers from programs like Oregon, Tennessee, Penn State, and more. Dubose is the first member of head coach Steve Sarkisian's 2024 recruiting class to leave the program.
Who will be the go-to receivers for Texas in 2025?
Don't worry, the Horns still have a lot of talent at the receiver position. From Ryan Wingo to Kaliq Lockett to DeAndre Moore, new starting quarterback Arch Manning will have plenty of targets downfield.
Not to mention tight ends Spencer Shannon and Jordan Washington, who will offer larger targets, closer to the line for Manning to throw to.
