The front end of the 2027 NFL Draft could turn into a Texas showcase according to PFF

Pro Football Focus released it's "way-too-early" top 10 big board for next year's draft, and it's safe to say that they're pretty high on a few Longhorns.

Immediately following the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft, in which six Longhorns were selected, PFF decided to release its "way-too-early" top 10 big board for the 2027 NFL Draft. To the surprise of no one, Texas has three players on the list, and two in the top 6.

Players like S Jelani McDonald and WR Cam Coleman could also end up being first-round type of players in next year's draft, but as of right now, they're not ranked as highly as these three Longhorns on PFF's board.

#4 - DE Colin Simmons

Texas' star pass rusher has been on NFL teams' radars since his dominant true freshman season in 2024, and he's getting better and better each season for the Longhorns. His ability to dip and rip past some of the best offensive tackles in college football on a consistent basis has resulted in 21 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, and a countless number of QB pressures throughout his first two seasons in Austin.

As of right now, the 6'3", 245-pound game-wrecker is projected to be the No.1 edge rusher selected in the 2027 NFL Draft, and a big year in 2026 will only solidify that idea.

#6 - QB Arch Manning

There's honestly not much to say here. Though PFF currently has Ohio State QB Julian Sayin and Oregon QB Dante Moore ahead of him at #3 and #4, Manning undoubtedly has the potential and ability to leapfrog them with a standout performance in 2026.

Manning's already shown off his explosive playmaking ability when it comes to running the ball; he just needs to put together another great year of throwing the football to silence the doubters.

#10 - OT Trevor Goosby

Goosby is ranked as the No.1 OT in the 2027 class according to most major NFL Draft outlets, but he's ranked No.2 behind Indiana's Carter Smith for PFF. This isn't that big of a deal, as the offensive tackle rankings fluctuate non-stop throughout the year.

However, due to Goosby's freaky combination of size and athleticism, most people can comfortably say that he'll be the first offensive tackle selected in the 2027 draft unless he completely forgets how to play football in 2026.
