As the entire world knows, the state of Texas is chock-full of unbelievably talented high school players, but one in particular is a must-get for Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns in 2027.
5-star OT prospect Kennedy Brown has been absolutely skyrocketing in the recruiting world since last summer, and it's possible that he could end up being one of the top all-time recruits to come out of the Lone Star State.
It just so happens that Texas needs help along the offensive line, especially when it comes to future projections, and landing Brown would give the Longhorns a stalwart offensive tackle to build around.

Aside from a couple other players in the class, Brown is one of the in-state players that Texas definitely doesn't want to lose out on. As things progress towards to 2026 season, don't be surprised to see an enormous push by the Longhorns to land his verbal commitment before National Signing Day '27 gets here. Typically, programs want to get their top-tier targets somewhat locked up before they have the opportunity to make it a "show" and feeling the need to decide between two or three schools.
Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood have to attack this recruitment very carefully, because if they're able to land him, he'll undoubtedly be the highest-rated offensive tackle recruit that Texas has ever landed. He's already been pushed all the way up to the No.4-ranked player in the 2027 class according to 247Sports' composite ratings.
Brown has an excellent frame with enough room to easily add 20-30 more pounds without losing any of his athleticism or short-area quickness. He's currently labeled as an offensive tackle, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him get reps at offensive guard at the next level, as his outlook as a people-moving interior lineman could be intriguing for some programs.
Nevertheless, he's undoubtedly a player that the Longhorns can't let get away, and they'll most likely have to shell out a hefty NIL deal to land him.
