The Texas Longhorns are falling apart at the worst time possible. On March 1, the start of the craziest time of the college basketball season, the Horns kicked off the month with a double-digit loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, extending their losing streak to three games.

In the 83-67 loss to Georgia, star freshman Tre Johnson, who has led the Longhorns to most of their victories this season, scored just 12 as senior forward Arthur Kaluma led the team in scoring with a minimal 15 points.

Head coach Rodney Terry received all of the blame for the Horns' downfall after the three consecutive losses (to Georgia, Arkansas, and South Carolina), especially because with the loss to the Bulldogs, Texas will most likely miss the NCAA Tournament.

Many Texas fans have likened Johnson to Longhorn legend Kevin Durant and were excited to see how far the freshman could take the Horns in the postseason. However, with a 5-11 conference record and a looming SEC Tournament, the Horns' postseason hopes have most likely been dashed.

Texas has two more regular season matchups remaining, against No. 24 Mississippi State and the Oklahoma Sooners, but the two wins would only lift the Longhorns' overall record to 18-13, a far cry from the 20-win season that most elite teams have come to expect. If Texas loses the two games, the Horns will drop to a dismal 16-15 overall and maybe even miss the NIT Tournament.

To put it lightly, Terry might be logging into LinkedIn after this season meets its end, just two years after he was named the newest head coach of the Longhorns.
