The Longhorns host the Arkansas Razorbacks this weekend in what should be a redemption game for Steve Sarkisian and Co. at DKR-Memorial Stadium. Though Texas is currently favored by 8.5 points according to Fanduel.com, the line has been moving around nonstop since the UGA game ended.

As some of you may or may not know, the spread moves almost solely based off of the betting market. The main goal of sportsbooks and different bookmakers is to make sure that each side of the line is being bet, that way there's equal money on both sides of the matchup. This ensures that Vegas makes the most money without losing a substantial amount when one side loses a wager.

In this case, because the betting public has been putting money on Arkansas to cover the spread, the line has been moving closer to 0. Texas -8.5 looks a lot better to people who want to bet on the Longhorns to cover than Texas -10.5 does, which is what the line opened up at. That's why the line has moved, so that it's more enticing for bettors to add money to Texas' side.

Though the line movement has been good for Texas fans from a betting standpoint, it's not good for the projections of this game. The majority of college football fans have been predicting that Arkansas will either keep it a close game or win outright according to the betting action.

Games like this are incredibly hard to bet on because the moment that you like the number and want to "take the points" with Arkansas, the line moves in favor of Texas. This is the type of game that you'd either want to bet on right away when the line opens, or at the very last minute to see what the spread finishes at.
