There have been some crazy QB rankings out there, but this is on a whole new level of bad.

"Silly season" is in full effect and becomes more apparent every day as we get closer and closer to spring practice, and another example of it was just released by That SEC Podcast. Very few things make us gasp anymore, but this one definitely did.

According to the graphic that they published on social media, their SEC QB rankings heading into 2026 are about as wild as we've seen so far.

That SEC Podcast 2026 QB rankings

1. Trinidad Chambliss - Ole Miss

2. LaNorris Sellers - South Carolina

3. Gunner Stockton - Georgia

4. Byrum Brown - Auburn

5. John Mateer - Oklahoma

6. Arch Manning - Texas

7. Sam Leavitt - LSU

8. Marcel Reed - Texas A&M

9. Joey Aguilar - Tennessee

10. Kamario Taylor - Mississippi State

11. Austin Simmons - Missouri

12. Austin Mack - Alabama

13. K.J. Jackson - Arkansas

14. Aaron Philo - Florida

15. Kenny Minchey - Kentucky

16. Jared Curtis - Vanderbilt

What on earth is going on right now? Having a quarterback at No.1 who maybe has a 5-10% chance of even playing college football in 2026 is crazy, and having another one in Joey Aguilar in the top 10 doesn't help either.

It's obvious that they're going 100% projections-only with these rankings because most of these guys' past production warrants them to be much higher or lower than they are here. Rankings should be based on, and usually are, a mixture of past and projected production.

Having Byrum Brown as high as No.4 and Arch Manning as low as No.6 is laughable. LaNorris Sellers at No.2 is almost to that level of ridiculousness, but not completely. It's also interesting to see them so low on incoming freshman Jared Curtis at Vandy. He's incredibly talented, and now that Vanderbilt added some more weapons for him in 2026, it wouldn't be surprising to see him be more productive than both Minchey and Philo this year.
