In this day and age of college basketball, Texas basketball has fully embraced the age of floor spacing and three-point shooting. With an NBA landscape that features all-time great three-point shooters like James Harden, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson, it is important for Texas head coach Rodney Terry to keep a heavy emphasis on shooting from distance.

Multiple Texas basketball scorers have shot over 40 percent from beyond the arc in careers in college

This season, we've seen the Longhorns shoot the lights out from beyond the arc. Texas ranks seventh in the NCAA in three-point field goal percentage (41.5 percent). Three-point sharpshooters like true freshman guard Tre Johnson, junior guard Jordan Pope, and senior guard Tramon Mark have all shot well above the watermark from distance this season.

The three-point line wasn't around in college basketball until the 1986-87 season. To build out this list, we utilized a combination of three major factors, including three-point field goal percentage, three-point field goals per game, and career three-point field goals.

To limit the outliers and highlight consistency and reliability in three-point shooting effectiveness for the Longhorns, only players with over 200 career three-point field goal attempts were considered.
