4. Daniel Gibson (2004-2006)

175-452 (38.7%), 2.6 FG3/G

Scoring guard Daniel Gibson gave the Longhorns an immediate shot in the arm when he joined the team as a freshman in 2004, ahead of the 2004-05 regular season in the Big 12. Gibson became the first true freshman in school history to lead the team in scoring (14.2 points per game).

Dick Vitale named Gibson the best freshman in the nation in college hoops for the 2004-05 season for Texas.

He made at least five three-pointers in four games in his first year. Gibson's scoring prowess and consistency earned him Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and Third-Team All-Big 12 honors for the Longhorns in 2004-05.

Gibson was the first Longhorns player to reach 100 three-point field goals in a single season. He led the Big 12 in three-point field goals in the 2005-06 season (101).

3. A.J. Abrams (2005-2009)

389-976 (39.9%), 2.7 FG3/G

Combo guard A.J. Abrams was a model of consistency and production for the Longhorns with his ability to create offense from anywhere on the floor in the settled half-court offense. Abrams, the all-time leader in Big 12 and Texas program history in three-point field goals, is one of the all-time great sharpshooters for the Longhorns.

He is the only player in program history to score over 1,500 career points and over 300 three-point field goals. Abrams averaged over 3.0 three-point field goals per game in the three seasons he started regularly for the Longhorns.

In 2007-08, Abrams not only led the Big 12 in three-point field goal percentage, but he also led the conference in three-point field goals.

Abrams ranks sixth in program history in three-point field goal percentage.
