Jan. 7 vs. Auburn

Location: Austin, TX

The top tier of squads in the SEC this season possesses multiple championship-caliber teams, including both Alabama schools. The No. 11 Auburn Tigers and head coach Bruce Pearl were picked to finish second in the SEC preseason media poll.

Auburn returns multiple starters, including First Team All-SEC preseason selection, super senior big man Johni Broome and preseason SEC All Third-Team wing Chad Baker-Mazara.

If Terry and the Longhorns want to prove they can be in the mix among the top contenders in the SEC standings this season, they'll have to snatch some of these victories in conference play at home against the Alabama schools. The good news is just that; Texas gets Auburn at home where Terry is 5-2 agaisnt ranked opponents in Austin as the Longhorns' head coach since 2023.

Feb. 11 vs. Alabama

Location: Austin, TX

Texas welcomes the preseason pick to win the SEC in the media poll, the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide and head coach Nate Oats, to Austin and the Moody Center on Feb. 11 for a marquee matchup in the SEC late in the regular season.

Alabama could be the best team the Longhorns play at the Moody Center this season. Returning stars like senior guard Mark Sears and senior big man Grant Nelson, the Tide will be a force to be reckoned with game in and game out in the SEC this season.

Sears and the Tide rank first in the nation in projected offensive rating for the 2024-25 season, according to KenPom. It will be a huge test for the Longhorns to see if all this tremendous and proven guard and wing talent Terry and staff assembled from the portal and high school recruiting during the offseason can matchup against the star power in Alabama's starting five.
